PWNAGOTCHI

The pwnagotchi was a fun little project to build and a nifty toy to keep developing. I made a very standard configuration of Raspberry Pi 0W, Waveshare eInk 2.13” V4 Display, and Pisugar2 Portable battery pack. I did not modify any of the configuration files as of now (February 29, 2024) but I will be tracking changes as I go.

On initial startup, I could ssh from windows with no issues, but was unable to from Ubuntu or Linux Mint. I will be attempting to revert the version to the older one that they tested on their website and try again.

UPDATE 04/07/2024 - At some point I think I played around with it and it stopped booting or anything. I remade it (now in dark mode cause why not) but had some difficulty. So I thought I would share issues I had.

• First I tried to flash with V1.5.5 (most recent) and then tried V1.5.3 - Neither seemed to work
• They would sort of be successful, and I could SSH into (only from Windows) but it wouldnt work with my wavshare screen (also tried a new screen)
• Finally, I got the iso file from here and it worked well. (Newer versions of it are available as well)
• in order to not have to ssh in, copy the handshakes from root to home, change permissions, and then scp, I put the line bettercap.handshakes = "/home/pi/handshakes" in the config.toml file.

still todo:

• SSH from linux (either change to the older version or find some other way)
• set up/test pwnmail
• set DEAUTH option to off (maybe)
• Add battery % to screen
• 3d print a case (maybe, I like the no-case look, but want it protected)
• Play around with plugins
• Ensure it works with 2.5 and 5 GHz
